Concepts

Welcome to Words of Power! The game is really pretty simple, but we need to cover a few major concepts in depth. You should always start with an awesome RP idea and then apply the rules to translate it. Do not let this book limit the story you want to tell.


Note: "Fate Weavers" refers to the lore of the game, which is not included in this document. The general idea is that some people are born with the ability to hold and manipulate the fates of both generic forgettable concepts (Fire, Sword, Cart) and specific fates (Astra of the Shadehill Guard). They use their mastery over these things to rewrite those portions of reality.


Normal people are unaware of the changes. Other Fate Weavers find the changes obvious. Fate Weavers use specific fates to avoid their own deaths. As a result, they live a long, long time and tend to have wide-reaching machinations. Players, bosses, and major story characters tend to be fate weavers.
